Writers strike postpones 24 debut indefinitely November 9, 2007

The season premiere of 24 has been pushed back further into 2008 thanks to the Writer’s Guild strike. The 7th season promos had just begun airing last week.

From an AP story by Frazer Moore late yesterday:

The planned January return of Fox’s “24″ has been postponed indefinitely. Since only some of the series’ 24 episodes have been shot, Fox didn’t want to risk beginning a new season that might be interrupted.

Hollywood Insider (Entertainment Weekly) has this:

Even the mighty Jack Bauer is no match for a WGA strike: Fox has decided to postpone the previously scheduled January 13 debut of 24’s seventh season so Kiefer Sutherland’s alter ego will not be left hanging indefinitely in the middle of some world-saving story line. The series will finish shooting through episode 8 before shutting down production later this month, and it will likely be rescheduled at a time when this season’s episodes can be seen in consecutive weeks.

24 was thought to have had a sluggish 6th season, with most fans looking forward to the new season. Now the question is, how many won’t come back after this delay, and has 24 already jumped the shark?

This has been out for a little while now (at least a year, since that’s how long I’ve had it), but at Krog’s urging, I will conjure up a few reviews on some not-so-recent releases.

For any die-hard Monty Python fans, this 14-DVD collection is for you. Originally listed around $150, it can be found at Costco and similar stores now for around $90. Each disc contains between 3 and 4 episodes.
